The Heat is on for Day 2 of the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX 2023

The FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX 2023 enters its second day with another action-packed day of racing and world-class entertainment at the world’s fastest street circuit, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Yesterday saw the cars hit the track in earnest or the first time this weekend during the first Free Practice session which saw reigning World Champion, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, top the leaderboard in style, having made an impressive recovery from illness that delayed his arrival in Jeddah by 24 hours.  His Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez came a close second with Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso, flying high after his incredible podium finish at the season opener in Bahrain, rounding out the top three. In the second session, Verstappen again set the fastest time with Alonso second and Perez in third, indicating that it will take a lot to beat this top three across the weekend.

As we enter Day 2, excitement is building for the all-important Qualifying session taking place this evening. The world’s greatest drivers will showcase their incredible skills behind the wheel as they go head-to-head for pole position on the challenging and ultra-fast, Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Last year, Sergio Perez secured his first ever pole position ahead of both Ferrari teammates, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz. However, the biggest shock was 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton not being able to take his car out of Q1. In 2021, Max Verstappen was on the way to deliver one of the best qualifying laps of the entire season, only to make a catastrophic mistake in the final corner. Jeddah Corniche Circuit always delivers a challenge, even for the very best drivers. Who will cinch that important pole position this year?

F1 aside, there’s still plenty of other racing action at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit today as we get set for another exhilarating Formula 2 Sprint Race. The up-and-coming F1 stars of the future will take part in the 20-lap race where there is no room for costly mistakes on this most challenging of circuits. Additionally, we will also see the first race of the exciting Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East series taking place.

Once the track action has come to an end the party won’t stop here in Jeddah as some of the world’s biggest names in music perform at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. Tonight, the Main Stage will see exhilarating life performances by the iconic Swedish House Mafia, dance act Afrojack and pop sensation Charlie Puth to close out the second night of the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX 2023!
